Robin Johnson, MSW Inern

EARLY CHILDHOOD + YOUTH THERAPIST

Robin Johnson is an early childhood mental health intern who brings a trauma-informed, playful, and relationship-centered approach to supporting children and their families. He specializes in working with young children, ages 0 to 7, navigating attachment disruptions, foster care and adoption, anxiety, and early experiences of trauma or neglect.

Robin’s work is guided by compassion, creativity, and curiosity. He often uses art, storytelling, and play as therapeutic tools for emotional expression and connection.

Robin’s clinical interests include attachment repair, parent-child relational health, and trauma recovery in early childhood. He draws from evidence-based and experiential approaches such as Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), and other play-based, narrative techniques to help children make sense of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors

As a resource/foster parent, Robin has spent several years providing care for youth who have experienced significant instability and loss in early childhood. This lived experience deeply shapes his understanding of the challenges and resilience within families working to heal and rebuild trust.

Robin is currently completing his Master of Social Work degree at Portland State University with a concentration in clinical practice and Early Childhood Mental Health. He received his BA in Environmental Studies and Journalism at Pacific University.

Outside of the therapy office, Robin enjoys drawing, skateboarding, playing guitar, and adventuring with his family in the mountains, lakes, and rivers of the PNW.

Robin is supervised by Kendre Berger, LCSW and Ruth Exley, LCSW
