Rebecca Koon, LPCA

Child, Adolescent and Adult Therapist

Rebecca Koon is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate whose work is rooted in a deep belief that young people deserve honest, shame-free support as they navigate the complexities of growing up.

With years of experience working with children and adolescents in middle and high school settings as a Licensed School Counselor, Rebecca brings a grounded, practical approach to counseling. She has worked with young people across a wide range of needs — from ADHD and autism support to emotional regulation, social skills, and mental health — and draws on evidence-based tools like DBT to help young people build real, lasting skills. She has a particular gift for meeting kids where they are and helping families feel like true partners in the process. Rebecca brings particular expertise in working with neurodivergent youth and adults as well as individuals exploring their gender and sexuality.

Rebecca also specializes in helping children and families navigate the school systems as children develop different social, emotional needs that impact academics. She believes that working with other professionals in her clients environment is crucial to positive therapy outcomes.

Before becoming a counselor, Rebecca spent nearly two decades as a sexuality educator and advocate. She is a Certified Sexuality Educator (CSE) through AASECT, and brings a developmentally informed lens to conversations about identity, bodies, and relationships with special expertise in puberty, sexual orientation, and gender identity exploration.

She holds a Master of Science in Counseling from Portland State University and a Master of Arts in Comparative Literature with a Women & Gender Studies emphasis from the University of Colorado. Her commitment to racial equity and social justice is woven throughout her work.

Rebecca works with children, adolescents, and adults and welcomes clients of all backgrounds and identities.
